Look beyond the number
Compare the complete construction: insulation type, panel thickness, thermal breaks, section joints and weather seals. A high advertised R-value cannot compensate for poor fit or damaged perimeter seals.
Match insulation to the building
Attached garages, heated workshops and frequently used commercial bays usually benefit most from an insulated door. An unheated detached garage may put greater priority on durability, design and budget.
Installation completes the system
